  • How do I know that my order is secure?

To check the security of your connection, look at the lower right or left-hand corner of your browser window when you make an order. If you see a closed lock or unbroken key picture  (actual image depends on your browser), then SSL is active and the website is secure.

You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser (at the top of your screen). When accessing a secure website, the first characters of the site address will change from "http" to "https." Right now the website should not be secure, because there is no secure information being passed to us.  You will notice a change during the checkout process when you enter payment information. You do not have to complete an order in order to test this out.

If you are about to send information to an insecure site, your browser will warn you that the site is not secure.

  • When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will not be charged until the time the order is shipped.

  • How can I track my order?

All of orders that are shipped via USPS Priority Mail will have a track and confirm number.  We will email you this number along with your shipping confirmation email.

You can get to the USPS Track and Confirm Web Page from the link below:

    http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm

Just enter the above number in the box with the “Enter Label Number” to check the status on your orders’ shipment.

  • How long does it take to receive my order?

We normally ship out our orders within 24 hours of receiving the online credit card order or personal check or money order in the Mail. Occasionally (rarely) we take 48 hours.

Back Orders & Out of Stock
We try our best to keep all items in stock, but in the event an item you request is back ordered or out of stock, we will try and send you an email to let you know when to expect it or we can offer you the item in a different size or package. You can decide to either have us ship it to you, or you will have the opportunity to change or cancel your order.

Almost all of our orders are shipped via the United States Postal System.

Using US Postal Service Priority Mail, you should receive your package within 4 days of our receiving your online credit card order or within 4 days of receiving your check or money order through the Mail.

Most of our orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail. Our 5 Notebook Size Meat Charts are shipped USPS First Class Mail, which usually takes 3 to 5 days to ship, not counting the normal 24 order processing time.  We ship our Meat Processing DVD's by USPS First Class Mail or Media Mail

  • Do you accept COD orders?

We no longer offer COD's due to abuse and the fact over 50% of COD orders turn out to be fraudulent transactions.

  • How your Ask The Meatman Order Shows  On Your Credit Card Statement

Please note that this charge will appear on your credit card or debit card statement as – 2CKO.com*Ask Meatman.

  • What if I am not satisfied with my product?

Since we opened our first store in 1949, our primary goal has been to satisfy the needs of our customers. We offer a 100% money back guarantee on everything we sell. You can shop our online store with complete confidence!

If you're not absolutely satisfied with the products you purchase from Ask The Meatman, send them back to us in their original condition within 30 days for a full refund. We will even refund the original shipping charges. (However, you'll need to pay the return shipping charges.)

  • Security number on American Express credit cards

The purpose of the credit card security number is to prevent thieves from using your credit card number with internet and telephone merchants who cannot physically compare the signatures on your card with the purchaser signature. The security number is a relatively new internet fraud protection mechanism, and many people are unfamiliar with it.

Location of Security Numbers on American Express Credit Card The security number is a random number added to the card by American Express. When our credit card processing company - 2Checkout.com communicates with American Express to get authorization to charge your credit card, 2Checkout.com also sends the security number that was provided. American Express looks to see if your account has enough available credit, and they also look to see that the security number provided matches what they printed onto your credit card. When you get a one-time-use card number for use on the internet, use the real security number on your American Express card; that is what they are expecting.

If the security number does not match, it is a reasonable assumption that the person using your credit card is not you, and although there might be enough available credit to handle the purchase, it would be unwise for us to process the purchase. If it were you making the purchase, you would know the proper security number. A thief would not.

If you have multiple credit cards, it is best if you designate one credit card just for internet purchases, so that no one but you ever sees the security number. Stores such as Ask The Meatman that verify the security number prevent thieves from pretending to be you.
