An Ideal Dry Rub for beef, pork, poultry, game meats or seafood. GREAT for barbecuing! And the AC Legg Old Plantation  BBQ Seasoning & Rub is FANTASTIC on Pork Butts cooked on the Grill like in the picture above!

 

A dry rub is used to hand rub all beef, pork, chicken, fish, or wild game that penetrates meat in a natural way to bring out the true flavor of barbecue. Meat can be rubbed and set aside in the cooler or refrigerator
to allow the spices to act as a perfect marinate. AC Legg BBQ Seasoning and Rub will bring out the best in your barbecue! 
Use as a dry rub or sprinkle on cooked meat.

 

This seasoning is sold as a commercial seasoning to Meat Processing Plants.  You won't find this seasoning in your grocery store!

 

As a guideline, we use 1 Bag of AC Legg BBQ Seasoning & Rub on 2 Whole Pork Butts.  We cover each Whole Pork Butt thoroughly and let set for 4 - 12 hours in the refrigerator before smoking.
On a 1 Rack of Pork Spare Ribs, we use ˝ Bag and marinate the same time as above before smoking.  We like to smoke to an internal temperature of 150 degrees on Pork Butts.

Leggs Bbq rub is simply the best rub for pork and chicken. Just the right amount of sweet and spice. Rub it on some skin on chicken pieces and let sit in the fridge overnight, then grill. Delicious!

Thanks for the email. I started using Legg Pork Sausage Seasoning when my grocer went out of business nearly 15 years ago. Before that I bought my sausage from this grocer because he made it in-house with your seasoning. I didn't know what he used until he gave me a bag of it after he closed his grocery business. The label on the bag said it was #25 which I didn't see in your options for pork sausage seasoning but the ingredients appear to be the same as the #10
. (They are the same seasoning. Ask The Meatman). Since then I have been using it to make my Elk sausage. I trim all the fat and gristle and add a very lean pork steak then I grind it together with the seasoning. I usually purchase the four bag option and it will last several years but my wife and I have changed our lifestyle to a small condo in Los Alamos and a park model in Arizona that we use in the winter. We also have a motor home we travel quite a bit in. All this means is we don't have the storage for keeping extra quantities. It also means I'll have to purchase this more often and in smaller quantities. I still go elk hunting every year with my brothers who also purchase and use the Leggs Pork Sausage Seasoning. I look forward to continuing my association with your company and I recommend you to anyone who will listen.

I also got Italian and regular Legg's sausage seasoning mix at the same time. All three have good taste. I've used this rub on pork chops and a beef roast. Taste is not overly hot and spicy. Just good southern-style barbeque flavor. I'm looking forward to the snow melting so I can use the grill again and see how this stuff goes with outdoor cooking.

Well, i did like this rub because it wasn't very salty like some rubs are...which was exactly what i was looking for!! But i found it to be a little bland in the flavor department. I know i usually like a little stronger, richer flavor...but NOT salty. I like rubs that you can generously apply to your meats and slow cook the "dickens" out of them!! lol!!
